Laurette Clash

Treasurer

Pie Inc. Accounting, CEO, CPA

Beginning her career at Latham and Watkins, the venerable law firm in Los Angeles, Laurette grew an ever-expanding department that eventually managed $48 million in billing with 13 staff members.

She returned to school and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Finance. She soon found herself working as a Controller working 80 hours a week. While raising her children, Laurette looked for a way to spend more time at home. She created a home office and began consulting with businesses providing day-to-day, weekly and monthly accounting solutions.

Since 1998, Laurette has assisted businesses in a variety of fields. She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and excels at meeting challenges such as translating complicated tasks into simplified step-by-step processes. Laurette earned her certification in Payroll and became a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor in 2009 and was soon teaching others to use the accounting software.

In addition to building P.I.E., Inc., Laurette has become a leader and active participant in a number of community business groups.

In 2013, she was honored as one of the Top Ten from the Count Me In program supported by People Biz. She has served as a Board Member at Pasadena Women’s City Club, Victory Bible Church, Pasadena Youth City Center, and Impact Media and Entertainment. In 2018, Laurette became the first Accounting Pro Partner with LeanLaw and later that year was named LeanLaw’s Accountant of the Month.

Laurette also created and taught a financial literacy course for the Emancipated Youth Program and held mock interviews with students at John Muir High School. She has volunteered at Union Station, Victory Bible Church, Pasadena Youth Christian Center and has helped a local Girl Scout troop earn a badge in finance. She developed and led accounting/bookkeeping workshops such as “Ten important Bookkeeping Skills” and “Who’s Minding Your Books?” featured at venues including the Pasadena Women’s City Club and Women at Work.

An Altadena native, Laurette continues to make her home there with her husband Danny. After raising four children, now grown, Laurette enjoys spending time with her family, jogging at the Rose Bowl and, occasionally, having some quiet time.
