Company Description

Girls IN Focus's mission is to connect girls and non-binary youth globally with our trailblazing film programs and have them emerge as industry leaders. Our four unique and supportive programs are both online and in-person, and offer girls and non-binary youth from around the globe an opportunity to connect and create films together from concept to festival-ready films. We provide a safe and dedicated environment, where A-list film industry professionals teach workshops and guide the filmmaking journey for youth.

Role Description

We have openings for a part-time, remote unpaid internship role for 501(c)3 non-profit, filmmaking org. Girls IN Focus that can turn into a paid position after 3 mos. As an intern, you will work alongside industry experts to gain hands-on experience in film production, non-profit entrepreneurship and film education. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to assisting with administrative tasks from scheduling, grant writing, marketing, coordinating events and programs, graphic/web design, fund-raising and film production. College credit offered.

Qualifications

  • College Student in Film or related studies or recent college graduate

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about filmmaking and storytelling

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail

  • Some experience in film production or related fields (e.g., video production, photography, etc.)

  • Drive to learn and innovate under the guidance of film industry professionals

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a remote setting

  • Keen on learning and using industry-standard software/ tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve, and other editing and VFX tools, as well as administrative knowledge of excel, google and canva.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Film, Media, or a related field (or recently graduated)

  • Open to collaborating with an international and diverse group of girls and non-binary youth, and with different time zones

  • Able to commit to 5- 10 hours per week for three months (with potential for extension)
